| | Project Overview
Cass County, Missouri continues to experience residential and business
development throughout the County. The resulting urbanization will result in an
increase of services provided by the County, and a greater demand on the
existing stormwater drainage system. To better plan for this expected growth, a comprehensive stormwater master plan
will be developed for the unincorporated portions of Cass County. The Stormwater
Master Plan will be divided into phases and may take several years to complete.
Phase 1 will deal primarily with stormwater policies, public involvement, and
defining a scope of work for subsequent phases of the Master Plan.

Collect Existing Information
The first goal is to assemble existing information relating to stormwater
management within Cass County
Public Participation Program
The purpose of the public participation program will be to educate the public
on stormwater issues, solicit feedback from local residents, and to help
fulfill the County's NPDES Phase 2 requirements for public outreach.
Develop Stormwater Planning Principals
Define the basic policy options that are integral to stormwater management
philosophies.
Review Current Stormwater Criterias
A review of stormwater system performance criteria will be conducted.
Recommendations for revisions to current criteria will be made as necessary.
Develop Project Scope for Subsequent Study Phases
Based upon the amount of information collected in Phase 1, Burns &
McDonnell will identify additional mapping needs, select areas where detailed
study is needed, and to identify revenue sources to fund subsequent phases.
