Rapid City Utility System Master Plan |
Field Data Collection |
A significant part of Phase II of the Utility Master Plan is the collection of data that defines different facets of the City’s utility systems. Data that was collected depicts both the physical system, such as manhole locations, sizes, types, etc…. as well as information on how the existing system is operating, such as sanitary sewer flow data. The collection of accurate data about the utility systems in the City is fundamental to the development of an accurate and useful Utility Master Plan. Field crews collected data and information about the water and sanitary sewer utilities from April – August 2006. Three main field data collection efforts were carried out:
· Sanitary Sewer Manhole Inventory · Sanitary Sewer Flow Monitoring · Water Distribution System Pressure Testing
