There is a public meeting scheduled on December 13, 2005 that will provide an overview of the project for the public as well as including a forum to provide feedback related to the project.
Additionally, future public meetings will be held to update the public on the progress of the project and solicit feedback at critical junctures in the project

As new development happens in the City, the utilities must be expanded to support the increased demand.  New utilities as well as increasing sizes of existing utilities may both be necessary to facilitate growth within the City.  The Utility Master Plan will provide tools to the City staff to better plan for these utility needs.

Frequently Asked Questions

The utility master plan will provide the City with a planning document for the next 20 – 25 years as well as a set of tools and processes to improve efficiency, enhance customer service, and prepare for future growth.  This master plan will not be just a document that sets on a shelf, rather it will be an integrated planning tool to allow the City to grow and adapt to the changing needs of the Rapid City community.
